Almost invariably, passengers arriving on international flights will enter the Terminal building via a covered jetway that moves out to the aircraft as soon as it comes to rest.
Unlicensed drugs, offensive weapons, obscene material and counterfeit goods are totally prohibited from import to the UK. There are severe penalties imposed on smugglers.
After passing through Immigration Control, passengers retrieve their hold baggage from the carousels and then pass through Customs Control. Once clear of Customs, passengers have formally entered the UK and are free to continue their journey.

If you know or suspect somebody is involved in
drug smuggling, you can make a free, confidential report to HM
Customs officers on 0800 595000.
