Medical and immunisation services are available at the London Gatwick Airport Medical Centre, situated on the second floor of Ashdown House next to South Terminal. As well as dealing with medical emergencies, the Centre staff offer advice on vaccinations and other precautions to help ensure a healthy holiday or business trip. If you live near to the Airport, you can take a course of vaccinations at the Centre at competitive rates. The Centre also sells insect repellents, mosquito nets, water sterilising tablets and emergency medical kits. Qualified staff are on hand to give specialist advice to pregnant women, and are happy to advise any traveller about medical matters.
Medical emergencies are handled by East Surrey Ambulance Service through the national emergency service number, 999.
If you have a medical condition which may be affected by flying, you should inform your airline and get your doctor to complete a medical information form that describes your condition and certifies you fit to fly. Remember to keep any essential medication with you in your hand luggage.
The Medical Centre is open every day from 07:00 to 23:00, and qualified staff can be contacted on 01293 507400.
Passengers who require medical assistance should contact the information desk in the Arrivals hall of their Terminal, or call 01293507400. For emergency response use any phone to call 999 and ask for the ambulance service.
