If you are connecting between an International flight and destinations in the UK, Channel Islands or Republic of Ireland, you must clear Immigration and Customs, collecting your baggage if necessary, and proceed to Departures. After checking-in (if necessary), go to UK Departures (for UK and Channel Islands flights) or International Departures for Republic of Ireland flights.
From each of the Arrivals channels the route to the Flight Connections Area is signposted with a distinctive double aircraft symbol.
For stopovers of more than a couple of hours you may wish to leave the airport area, or at least use the landside facilities. There are left luggage offices in both Terminals, and you can find details of their hours of business and tariff in the Passenger Facilities section.
